Why is Franklin absent from the 1860 Monroe County Census? All his brothers and sisters are there except Franklin
Evan Bennett and Kelly Dean Bennett, who was 4 years old. We know their mother died in 1860 but before the Census because Owen is listed
in the 1860 Census as a widower but she was present at the 1850 Census. Perhaps
the youngest two were not counted? Perhaps they were at a neighbor's house that
day?

What the heck is Maud's real maiden name? Her name is listed as "Maud
McBride, Williams" in Brodurbund (source 2). Our family often spells her
name Maud or Maude. I am not too worried about her first name. But Maud had
children whose names were Bennett (Kelley, Jean Dorothy, and Ralph); and she had
children whose last name was McBride (Charlie, Roxie, Ruth); and she had a
daughter whose last name was Stowers (Ruby). Brodubund shows that she MARRIED a
guy named Williams (with guesses on birth, death, and marriage dates to
Williams). I think her maiden name was Williams and that she never married a
Williams. Now, to make things more confusing, I have Maud's mother's name as
Shalfonte and no father listed
